Ideally suited for Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME) networks, the Matrix V2 delivers the perfect combination of features, performance and functionality - all at an affordable price. With inherent stackable capabilities plus support for multiple uplink technologies, the Matrix V2 is one of the most flexible and scalable switches on the market. Key next-generation features include Layer 2 switching services, Layer 2/3/4 classification and rate limiting, 802.1w (Rapid Reconvergence), 802.3ad (Link Aggregation) and optional power redundancy. This robust feature set will support the deployment of VoIP and real-time video and data-intensive applications such as CRM, SCM and ERP. You simply won't find this kind of high-end, high-availability performance in any other value-priced switch. The Matrix V2 supports 24 ports of 10/100Base-TX with two expansion slots for either uplink connections and/or stacking modules. The expansion slots are technology independent and support 100Base-FX multimode and single mode fiber, 10/100/1000Base-TX with RJ45, and a combination Gigabit Ethernet module that supports either 10/100/1000Base-TX or 1000Base-SX/LX via Mini GBICs. The stacking module supports up to eight units for a total density of 192 ports of 10/100Base-TX. The wire-speed performance of the Matrix V2, along with support for Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, makes it a perfect solution for desktop, server farm aggregation and shared access environments within the SME market. The plug-and-play simplicity and advanced features of the Matrix V2 bring a high level of intelligence to the network edge. The Matrix V2 can be managed via an industry-standard command line interface, embedded web server, or SNMP, Telnet, or serial connections. The Matrix V2's advanced Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities make the deployment of converged applications a reality for SME networks through the support of features like IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1Q, TOS/DSCP rewrite and Weighted Fair Queuing that help enable the secure, reliable transmission of integrated voice/video/data. Equally important to converged networks is traffic classification, which the Matrix V2 performs at Layer 2/3/4. The Matrix V2 supports both ingress and egress rate limiting. For Fast Ethernet ports, the rate limit can be set from 1 MB to 100 MB in 1 MB intervals; for Gigabit Ethernet ports, the rate limit can be set from 1 MB to 1000 MB in 8 MB intervals. Security is vital to all networks, especially within the SME market. With the Matrix V2, the network is protected at the first point of entry (user access) via IEEE 802.1X and MAC Port Locking. Additional network and host security features include support for Access Control Lists, as well as SSH, SSL and RADIUS.
