The DES-1009G is a Gigabit Switch with eight 10/100 Mbps NWay Ethernet ports and one 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet port. The DES-1009G provides a workgroup solution helping to increase network throughput for increased server to client response. The DES-1009G is targeted at small to medium corporate business environments. The DES-1009G strictly adheres to IEEE 802.3 10BaseT, IEEE 802.3u 100BaseTX, and IEEE 802.3z 1000BaseTX standards. It utilizes the same packet structure format support for the CSMA/CD protocol. In addition, the DES-1009G supports full duplex and flow control. The DES-1009G delivers high-speed 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet switching and maximum flexibility by providing dynamic auto-sensing capabilities for 10/100/1000Mb Ethernet segments and workstations. The DES-1009G utilities a store and forward switching scheme to support rate adaptation and protocol conversion. The DES-1009G supports non-blocking full wire speed data forwarding and filtering rate capabilities for each port. The DES-1009G also has built-in NWay auto-negotiation ports, which automatically identifies and determines the correct transmission speed and duplex mode of the attached device. The DES-1009G provides dynamic filtering through auto-learned MAC addresses and static filtering. In addition, The DES-1009G comes with a 4096 active MAC address entry table and hashing algorithm on address learning per device. The DES-1009G enables auto-aging capabilities and collision backpressure. The DES-1009G supports buffering allocation of 512 bytes each to optimize the performance on mixed network speeds. Finally, the DES-1009G can help to protect a LAN from broadcast storms through rate filtering, which can control broadcast data and prevent unnecessary absorption of network bandwidth to keep the network speed constant. The DES-1009G provides 3 LEDs per port to connection speed, port status, and network activity. Additional switch LED, report real-time HTTP, ICQ and SMTP traffic.
