Media converter - 10Base-T, 10Base-FL (ST) - RJ-45 - ST multi-mode - rack-mountable - up to 1 miles - 850 nm
These 19" rack-mountable devices are multiport 100BaseTX to 100BaseFX media converters providing 6 or 12 independent conversion ports housed in a slim 1U chassis. Each individual port allows network extension over multimode fiber of 2 km. It is transparent to HDX/FDX transmissions. Furthermore, it generates "FDX advertising" signals to force maximum performance on other - even non-managed - network elements; thus enhancing overall network performance. The Fault Propagation mechanism implemented in the device alerts users to down links, while the link test capability allows easy maintenance. Special attention was given to allow easy installation and maintenance: redundant power supply, directly removable (hot-swappable) power supply, extensive front-panel diagnostics and more. It is factory pre-configured and multiple units can be mixed and stacked to achieve the exact number of ports required while occupying minimal rack space.
