Lantronix Secure Console Servers provide unlimited access to remote network and telecom equipment, helping you maintain optimum system performance and availability. Using your existing IP network or a single modem connection, Secure Console Servers provide remote access to data and voice equipment. All that's required is an available console, AUX or serial port (RS-232) on your equipment. Secure Console Servers are a flexible and powerful tool to manage devices such as hubs, switches, routers, servers, UPS systems, PBX systems, and telecom switches. Using In-Band management, you can manage your equipment over the network; from virtually any place you have access, with familiar tools like Telnet or Secure Shell (SSH). Even if the network is down, Secure Console Servers have an Out-of-Band management feature that allows dial-in access through a modem connection. Where multiple pieces of equipment are installed, modem sharing allows you to realize a significant savings in installation and monthly operating costs. The SCS400 features a 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet interface, and 4 RS-232 serial ports. The included EZWebCon Java configuration tool provides quick and easy setup. After installation, additional changes can be made through the serial port, over the network with Telnet, or from a web browser using the built-in web server.
