Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 AMD64 is fully 64-bit enabled for the AMD64 (Opteron) architecture and is available for Sun x86 hardware such as the SunFire v20z and future x86 based hardware from Sun. Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS is the high performance technical computing (HPC or HPTC) partner for Enterprise Linux AS and Enterprise Linux ES. Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS supports 1-2 CPU x86-compatible systems with large memory configurations (greater than 8 GB), and is ideal for HPTC, s/w development environments and applications such as EDA and Oil/Gas. Based on the same software core, Enterprise Linux WS does not include network server applications (such as DNS and DHCP) or High Availability Clustering.
