NetWare 5 is the number-one network for Internet-enabled businesses. NetWare 5 combines the maturity and reliability of the traditional NetWare network with the global reach and open standards of the Internet. NetWare 5 enables you to create a network based on Internet protocols while making the most of your existing network investments. NetWare 5 supports IP-only networks while retaining compatibility with IPX. It enables you to implement TCP/IP, the standard protocol of the Internet, in your existing network infrastructure without additional routing overhead and without jeopardizing control, security, or performance. The Compatibility Mode feature enables you to continue to use your IPX-dependent applications for as long as you need to; you decide when and if you will make the transition to an IP-only network. NetWare 5 also includes the industry-standard Netscape Web browser as well as Netscape FastTrack Server for NetWare, which you can use to set up your own Web server based on Novell Directory Services (NDS) for the Internet or your intranet.
