Controller Module - Expansion module
A single Ethernet LAN, or, more accurately, a 'collision domain', is made up of one or more segments. Configuring repeaters with multiple collision domains can increase the available bandwidth and improve network performance. LANrepeater/4, /8, /4r, /6r and /8r feature the capability to be configured with multiple collision domains in a single chassis- eliminating the need for multiple repeaters. LANrepeater/4x LANrepeater/8x can be configured with multiple collision domains by adding additional Controller Modules.
