Sony AIT-1 tape drives deliver up to 91 GB capacity (with 2.6: 1 compression) in a compact, 8mm data cartridge. The SDX-400C series tape drives offer up to 33% higher performance to the ultra-reliable and innovative AIT-1 product line. Built around Sony's AIT tape technology, the AITi90-A/S comes with an industry standard ATAPI interface for easy installation into most desktop PCs. Sony AIT tape drives incorporate a redesigned head geometry, reducing head/tape pressure and delivering up to 50, 000 hours of head life and an industry leading MTBF rating of 300, 000 POH (100% duty cycle). AIT Drives offer high capacity in an extremely compact 3.5-inch form factor. With compact size a fraction of the size of other high capacity tape drive formats, AIT drives are easy to integrate into desktop workstations, servers and automated tape libraries.
