With the exception of Ethernet, T1/E1 is one of the most common campus/metropolitan area networking interconnects. A copper to fiber conversion on the premise side of the T1/E1 makes it easier to integrate voice traffic, frame relay or IP type traffic on your fiber network. Transition Networks' T1/E1 Copper to Fiber Media Converter is available in both stand-alone and slide-in-module form factor. The converter enables the deployment of fiber into campus or industrial environments; allowing network distances of up to 15, 000 meters. This deployment of fiber into these environments provides a cost-effective solution and allows for the standardization on fiber as a media type. This is especially significant in industrial environments where fiber is immune to electrostatic interference "noise". You can extend distances over 2, 000 meters using 850nm optics and multimode fiber, and 15, 000 meters using 1310nm optics and single mode fiber.
