Zoom V.92 COMBO 3048 - Fax / modem - external - RS-232 - 56 Kbps - V.90, V.92
The Zoom/Modem V.92 COMBO Model 3048 is a high-performance 56K fax modem that plugs into the serial port of a computer using a Windows or MacOS operating system. It also works with DOS, Linux and UNIX computers. The model 3048's performance is enhanced by an on-board controller, DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and ITU V.92/V.44 standard compatibility. The Zoom/Modem V.92 COMBO outperforms V.90 modems. ITU V.92 standard is a new standard for dial-up modems. It, and its companion compression standard V.44, makes communications faster, easier and more enjoyable. The "automatic negotiation" or "handshake" at the beginning of a call can be over twice as fast with Zoom/Modem V.92 than with V.90 modems. The Zoom/Modem V.92 COMBO Model 3048 includes V.80 capability for compatibility with H.324 standard point-to-point video-telephony over regular phone lines. It also supports Group 3, Class 1 fax.
