Gold Maintenance is designed for an individual or a small IT department operating a small to medium-size network requiring consistent phone support during normal business hours. This service includes unlimited access to Symantec Technical Support during normal regional business hours (Monday through Friday), and online support options, which are available 24 x 7. Gold Maintenance also provides Upgrade Insurance and in some cases, Content Updates. Upgrade Insurance (UPIN) is a program that guarantees customers will receive the latest versions of Symantec products for a set period of time after the license purchase. Content Updates provide updates for data libraries referenced by core software (for example, AntiVirus definitions, or URL list updates). Gold Maintenance is suggested as a minimal level of support, and required with the Elite Purchase Program.
